VEGAN FOR OUR SUSTAINABILITY!
All human have conscience. By that, we have #love.
All human want to live. By that, we need #sustainability.
Before that, do you know that vegan is different from vegetarianism? Vegan is a plant-based diet that does not only consume meat and fish but also does not consume animal products such as milk, eggs, honey, and does not even use products made from animals such as leather or wool. All clothes, accessories, beauty products, skincare, are animal-free. The question, Why do we have to be vegan? Is vegetarianism not enough?
1. All Animals Have the Right to Live
Farm animals cannot live naturally as they should. They are always killed prematurely, although they still have the potential to live longer, but have been killed prematurely because they can no longer produce. For example, cows, in general, can live more than 20 years, but on a farm, cows will be shot dead at around 3-4 years of age when they no longer produce milk. In fact, cows that are intentionally bred for meat will be killed faster.
If you don't eat meat but still consuming milk or eggs (as most “vegetarians” do), it increases suffering. Animals that are exploited in the dairy or egg industries live longer than those used for meat, but they are still treated badly throughout their lives.
2. Healthy Benefit
Can't be denied that a plant-based lifestyle, either vegan or vegetarian, has a good impact on our health. In today's era, many people are starting to realize that a plant-based diet, especially vegan, which is the right choice for healthy living. The health benefits you will have with vegans are significant. One of them is to improve blood glucose control and reduce the risk of developing type 2 diabetes.
The vegan diet has been widely recognized by major health organizations to have lower rates of cancer, blood pressure, cholesterol, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, stroke, and even Alzheimer's. We can say that being vegan can improve overall health. A vegan diet supported by health measures such as exercise, high fiber intake, and low fat intake can help deregulate cell regeneration activities. Therefore, vegans are not only good in terms of health, but they also help slow down the aging process.
3. Reduce Global Warming
The world's population has more than doubled since the 1960s while meat production has quadrupled. Livestock production continues to increase rapidly and will continue to grow. The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations estimates that by 2050 world meat production will almost double, as the Western appetite for meat, eggs, and dairy products continue to increase. This will have a very bad impact on this earth. Livestock contributes to global warming, widespread pollution, deforestation, land degradation, water scarcity, and species extinction. Animal production requires water and plants for them to eat and transport animals as well as later products, this results in excess methane, a greenhouse gas that damages the earth. Emissions such as methane, nitrous oxide, and other gases will remain in the atmosphere for many years so that global warming is unlikely to be eliminated in the next few decades. Therefore, we must no longer contribute to increasing these greenhouse gases. On the contrary, we have to reduce it with the right steps, one of which is vegan.
4. Requires Less Water
According to the latest report from the United Nations, the world's water availability in 2020 is only 60%. This situation will be even worse if the population continues to grow and more and more people eat meat. The water a meat eater needs three times as much as a vegan. For example, it takes 15,500 liters of water to produce 1 kg of beef, compared to 180 liters for 1 kg of tomatoes and 250 liters for 1 kg of potatoes.
Globally, the agricultural sector uses about 70% of the planet's accessible freshwater. Meanwhile, the industry is around 20% and for household use, it is 10%. Agriculture needs more water because fertile soil has to be watered to be viable and also to increase crop yields. However, it is unfortunate that most of what is grown is for animal feed, not for direct consumption by the community. So much water that has to be used for livestock represents a wasteful use of resources. Switching to a vegan diet will help reduce the world's need for water significantly.
5. Tackling Hunger in the World
More than enough food is produced in the world to feed this global population, but more than 690 million people are still hungry. The cases of hunger in the world continue to increase from year to year. If current trends continue, the World Health Organization (WHO) predicts the number of hungry people will reach 840 million by 2030.
I found out being vegan is not difficult at all. Why? you might read these article:

Surely, we only live once so make it beautiful. Not only for our soul but for every soul. Life is very short, so be impactful for every live being. We do not always need to give to help them, but we save them by being vegan. If we say we love animals but still eating turkey for Christmas, serving beef steak for dinner, what's the point?
Let's make a change, let's be kind, let's save the world,
Let's be Vegan!
